Chelsea have reportedly tabled a £44.4m bid for Real Madrid's attacking midfielder, Isco. Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is keen to improve his squad in January after Chelsea's two-window ban was reduced to one.

Isco has been linked with Chelsea in the past but Spanish publication, El Desmarque claimed that Chelsea tabled an official offer for the player on Monday.

The story reads(translated): "Real Madrid has an offer since Monday from the Premier League to sell to Isco Alarcón in January or summer, and Florentino Pérez has not yet decided since it is the money he was asking for in the summer market to sell him.

The buyer is Chelsea, who has finalized his penalty for not signing, and is willing to put 52 million euros for the Real Madrid player from Malaga. An offer Real Madrid take very seriously."

The outlet went on to suggest that Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez wanted to sell James Rodriguez to Chelsea but was turned down as the London club are only interested in Isco.
