Southampton manager, Ralph Hasenhuttl has suggested that the transfer ban imposed on Chelsea by FIFA has opened up an opportunity for Chelsea to use their impressed academy players.

Although Chelsea's two windows ban has been reduced to one on appeal, the Saints boss believes that Chelsea have made stars like Abraham and Mount as a result of the ban.

“Sometimes you see a ban can also be an advantage for you because you don’t have any pressure to get somebody in.

“The good thing about a club like Chelsea is that they have about 50 loan players everywhere around the world which gives you a lot of options.

“Abraham is the best example. A lot of clubs were interested in this player and then they took him for themselves and he has scored very often.

“Sometimes it can be an advantage and I think they have made a good job so far.

“They are a good side and are still in the Champions League,” he said.

Southampton will face Chelsea in round 19 clash of the English Premier League.
