Chelsea went into the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday as underdogs following a poor run of form that earned the Blues only three points from possible fifteen points. The Blues surprised everyone with a resounding 0-2 victory.

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount said they derived strength from people's criticisms and lack of belief in them.

“After the four defeats in five games, people were doubting us. Us young players are going to get asked questions. We knew today could be the turning point." Mount said

“We knew the last four games weren’t good enough, the performances were not good enough, so to come here in a derby was kind of the perfect game to show our mentality and show our fight and our desire and belief to come here and win.

“That reaction was key. We spoke after the last game that we didn’t have enough ‘balls’. We wanted to get on the ball and play. To come here and do that– it was a good opportunity to show it.

“We’re not a team that will get pushed over easy and we have that fight within us and we showed that today.” He concluded

Chelsea will hope to continue there winning run when they meet Southampton on Boxing Day at Stamford Bridge.
