Form Guide

The above image from is our form guide since our winning streak. As you can see we have not been able to string together any sort of form. Regularly we are being undone by lower table teams who sit back with an organized defense, ultimately winning the match with one or two opportunities.

Having said that, in recent times we've been quite competitive against top clubs like Tottenham and Arsenal. Also with the current trend in the form, we may be destined for a win.

Implications of W/L/D

Win - a win would be brilliant once again against a London rival and it would mean completing the double against Arsenal this season. Furthermore, it keeps us in front of Man U for the top 4 race. Also, a win at Stamford Bridge in front of the home crowd is something of a rare occasion this season. Therefore, a win would be that much nicer.

Loss -  This would be devastating as it will allow Man U to bridge the gap and seriously jeopardize our top 4 spots. With lack of signings in this Jan window, without UCL next season, quality signings would be that much tougher. Lastly, no one wants to lose a London derby at home!

Draw - This would not be a great result as once again it will allow Man U to possibly reduce the gap with us for the top 4 race. With mega-blockbuster fixtures coming up, we need maximum points to have any chance of qualifying for Champions League next season.

Possible lineup

Last time we beat Arsenal, we switched from a 3-4-3 to a 4-3-3. The switch was supremely effective and eventually was a major component in our win. Kovacic comes back in the midfield instead of Mount to bring some much-needed technicality in our team and that cutting edge when driving forward. The rest of the team remains the same for consistency purposes and knowing this is the best team available right now to combat Arsenal who generally takes the game to us.

Injury update

Reece James'injury post-Newcastle game is not as serious as was first thought. It's been reported that it's only bruising. Hopefully, Reece is available for the match as he is one of our top creative players right now in the team with his brilliant crossing ability and bombing forward to provide an option for our wingers.

No other notable injury to report on.

I am predicting a 2-1 Chelsea win due to the fact that we generally have been playing well against the top clubs lately. However, our home form does worry me.
