Chelsea have been scouting Europe, looking for a new left-back with Emerson and Marcos Alonso's future uncertain.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard feels there is a need to sign a new left-back after unconvincing performances by Emerson and Alonso. Lampard also unsuccessfully tried Azpilicueta at left-back which has solidified his case for a new left-back in the summer.

Leicester City's Ben Chilwell was the prime target but recent poor performances and £60m price tag have cooled off Chelsea's interest, while a deal for FC Porto's Alex Telles looks more likely due to his good form and acceptable release clause but his age could force Chelsea to think twice. Telles is 27 years and has £35m release clause.

However, a new name has been thrown into the ring recently, Barcelona's left-back Marc Cucurella who is currently on loan at Getafe. According to latest report by Spanish publication AS, the 21-year-old is currently on Chelsea's shopping list but is also wanted by Napoli, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Cucurella, who is currently enjoying a fine season at Getafe where he plays as winger and full-back will replace either Emerson or Alonso if he joins the Blues in the summer.

Cucurella has contributed one goal and 4 assists in La Liga for 5th placed Getafe.
