Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel is hoping for a change of heart from Chelsea, which could see him stay at Stamford Bridge next season.

“They can think; we have invested a lot in that boy and now he is finally fit. Let’s keep him.” van Ginkel told Voetbal International in an exclusive interview captured by Football Orange.

The midfielder is also hoping to hear from Chelsea as soon as possible about his future.

“I have no idea what is going to happen. Chelsea should let me know what it plans to do next month. I’ll call them in a few weeks.

“No, seriously: I don’t know. Due to the current crisis, it may just be that a lot is changing in terms of contracts and salaries in football. These are uncertain times for many people. We’ll just wait and see.”

The Netherlands international has been out with serious injury for over a year but has returned, and is actively doing individual training.
