The Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation Shehu Dikko has confirmed that Nigeria are still hopeful of getting highly-rated Chelsea youngster Faustino Adebola Anjorin to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Dikko told allnigeriasoccer.com that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr is still monitoring the young midfielder's progress.

“Yes I think Rohr's scouting team are monitoring (Anjorin) but I have no idea what they are doing, but I am sure they won't miss him,” he said.

“The objective of the coach is to have a wide pool of players available for selection both abroad and in the domestic scene.

“So I believe they must have him on their radar but all subject to if he is interested to pledge his allegiance to Nigeria since it’s a long process and not a guarantee he must be selected until he deserves it”

Faustino Anjorin made his Premier League debut in Chelsea's 4-0 victory over Everton last month.
