Chelsea star Ethan Ampadu is reportedly a summer target for La Liga side Sevilla.

Spain based publication, Todofichajes reports that Sevilla's sporting director Mochi has been monitoring the Welsh defender/midfielder and is keen to bring him to Spain in the summer.

Ampadu who is currently on loan at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig but is set to go back to Chelsea when his loan deal expires, according to RB Leipzig's sporting director Markus Krösche.

“The loan contract expires without an option. It’s been discussed that he will go back to Chelsea”

The report also claims that talks have already opened between Chelsea and Sevilla, and the Spanish club is confident that they can reach an agreement before the transfer window opens.

The 19-year-old is definitely not scared of an adventurous move, he recently told The Athletic that his loan spell at RB Leipzig wasn't perfect, but he has no regrets as he has learned a lot in Germany.

“There’s been a lot of frustration at times; however, I’ve learned a lot through those frustrations which will only help me later in my career,” he said.

“I’ve not played as many games as I’d have liked to but in the games I have played in, I think I’ve done reasonably well. That’ll give me confidence, but I’ve things to learn from.

“If I’m honest, it’s not been as good as I hoped, not all that I wanted it to be. But I hope technically I’ve improved and, tactically, I’ve now played under another manager.

“So I’ve learned another style of football and how another manager thinks football should be played.”

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is also a huge fan of Ampadu and will like to keep him to bolster his squad.

“I tried to sign Ethan on loan at Derby last year, so I’m a big fan, but with the minutes he played last year, I have to think of the bigger picture and the interests of Ethan and of Chelsea,” Lampard said last summer before Ampadu joined RB Leipzig on loan.

Ampadu has started just two matches for the Bundesliga side this season. A return back to Chelsea seems inevitable but a move away from Chelsea permanently or on loan remains to be seen.
