Former Benfica manager looks back on the UEFA Europa League final between Chelsea and Benfica at the Amsterdam Arena in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 15 May 2013.

A last-gasp header from Branislav Ivanovic gave Chelsea a 2-1 victory over Benfica and made Chelsea the only club to win the Champions League and Europa League in back-to-back seasons.

However, Jesus said he was not impressed with the Blues display.

“After losing the finals I never saw them again and I always see the same games again,” he told BTV, quoted by A bola.

“Now, when I was in Portugal I saw the finals, but no longer as a coach for Benfica, but as a football lover, and I was delighted, I had no idea that Benfica had played so much.

“I was surprised by the quality of the game against Chelsea, Benfica played a lot, the Chelsea team played in blue like Belenenses. I told my friends, after seeing the final, that we were not playing Chelsea, we were playing Belenenses. We reduced Chelsea to a very small club”

Chelsea won the Europa League for a second time in 2019 under Maurizio Sarri.
