Sassuolo have revealed they are planning to keep former Chelsea winger, Jeremie Boga at the club next season.

Boga has been a subject of transfer inquiries from top clubs in Europe with Chelsea holding the key courtesy of a buy-back clause inserted in Boga's contract.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported this afternoon that Chelsea have decided against using their buyback clause for the Ivory Coast International.

However, Sassuolo sports director Giovanni Carnevali said they are not willing to sell their star player.

“Boga has grown a lot, we must give credit to (coach Roberto) De Zerbi who made him grow,” he La Domenica Sportiva, cited by Tribal Football.

“He is requested by various clubs, but we intend to keep him, we do not want to sell him because he will continue in the project that Dr. Squinzi had in mind. He will be Neroverde also next season.”

Sassuolo signed the winger from Chelsea in the summer of 2018 for a fee of €3m, but the Blues inserted a buy-back option reportedly around €15m - €20m in his contract.
